One of our newest pieces of equipment is the QuantStudio™ 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System, offering maximum throughput, flexibility and scalability.
This machine can simultaneously run up to four 3072 reaction QuantStudio 12K Flex OpenArray Plates in around 4 hours. At the CSCR we have 4 thermal cycling blocks: OpenArray, TaqMan Array Card, 384 well and a Fast 96-well blocks. Block changes are really quick and simple to do. The different blocks allow you to analyze up to 12,000 data points from a single run. This machine uses a white light LED optics system instead of the laser that is used in the 7900HT machine.

The QuantStudio 12K Flex OpenArray plates are microscope slide-sized and are arranged in 48 subarrays of 64 through holes, with a total of 3072 through-holes for individual 33nl reactions. Hydrophilic and hydrophobic compounds are used to retain reagents in the through-holes via surface tension.
