Clinician Scientist Opportunities

The Wellcome Trust - Medical Research Council Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is founded on the concept that deep understanding of stem cell biology will contribute to transforming future healthcare (http://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk). In 2018 we will move into a new purpose built building adjacent to Addenbrooke’s Hospital and multiple research institutes - http://cambridge-biomedical.com/. We are seeking exceptional clinician scientists as Group Leaders to complement our existing programmes and facilitate the translation of advances in stem cell science into novel stem cell “medicines”. Applications in any area of medicine or surgery are welcome.

Applicants will usually be expected to have completed a higher degree, have post doctoral experience and be (or have recently been) clinically active.

The Institute offers a collegiate environment with excellent core facilities for laboratory-based studies (http://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk). In addition, our co-location with a major teaching hospital (Addenbrookes) provides extensive opportunities to pursue patient based studies. Successful candidates will be supported to obtain external personal fellowship and grant support. Interim start up packages may be available depending on individual circumstances.
