Studentship Details

Dates of Study: Oct 2011 - Sep 2015

Programme: Wellcome Trust 4 Year (1+3) PhD Programme in Stem Cell Biology

PhD Supervisor: Dr Michaela Frye

Studentship Sponsor: The Wellcome Trust

Thesis Title: Role of RNA methyltransferase Nsun2 in mediating stress responses in epidermal stem cells.

Post PhD

In September 2015, Martyna began working as a Research Assistant with Dr Michaela Frye at the Stem Cell Institute in Cambridge.

Plain English

I studied how stem cells in skin behave when exposed to external stress factors such as UV irradiation or wounding. I was interested in molecular mechanisms that needed to be activated during stress responses in order to maintain tissue integrity.
