How To Apply
- All applicants must submit the departmental application form via our application site here. Applications received by email will not be accepted.
- Please contact your two named referees, and ask them to email their references to email@example.com by Thursday 5th January 2017, quoting 'Wellcome Trust PhD' in the subject header. Reference letters must be provided by the referee themselves on headed paper and should be signed. References submitted by applicants will not be accepted. References submitted after the deadline may not be accepted. It your responsibility to ensure the references have been sent in.
- 'Overseas' applicants wanting to apply for any of the Cambridge Scholarships to cover their overseas fees, will also need to complete an application through the University Student Application Form Applicant Portal, as well as our departmental application form.
IMPORTANT: if you are applying for additional/'Overseas' funding, please make sure that you have applied through the Applicant Portal by Wednesday 7th December 2016. However, you have until 5th January 2017 9am UK time to complete the Departmental Application process.
References: Both the University Applicant Portal system and our Departmental application process require references from your referees, so to clarify, you will need to ask your referees to supply them twice. For the Departmental application references process, see '2' above; if you are also applying through the University Applicant Portal, you can request your references direct from within the Portal.
Please note: 'Home' students do not need to complete an application through the University Student Application Form Applicant Portal system at this stage.

Interviews will be held in Cambridge on Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th, and Wednesday 25th January 2017. Interview candidates will be expected to attend two of these days.
If you do not hear from us by Friday 20th January, please assume that your application has not been shortlisted.
