Professor Austin Smith's talk on stem cells generated a lot of interest from the public.

As a part of the Cambridge Science Festival 2013, Professor Austin Smith, director of the Wellcome Trust - MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, gave a public talk on stem cells.

The talk, Stem Cells: Hope or Hype?, attracted a lot of interest and was fully booked even before the sign-up deadline. Held on March 21 in the Umney Theatre, Robinson College, it was followed by a Q&A session. Many members of the audience appreciated the chance to have their questions about stem cells answered by one of the leading researchers of the field.

The entire evening was filmed and a DVD which will be available for distribution to schools and other educational institutions is currently under production.
