Cambridge Beer Festival 2017

Brewing a taste for stem cell research

Using their CSCI Public Engagement Seed Funding, CSCI students Tim Lohoff and Daniel Bode created a Stem Cell beer "Regenerator" in conjunction with Moonshine Brewery.

The beer was sold at the Cambridge Beer Festival 2017 and was the first time that the beer had been sold to the public.

It was a great way to engage with a new non-science audience and provided a new challenge for all the researchers involved. With help from the sunshine and the beer, we had some really interesting discussions with people about stem cell research.

The aim is now to take the beer out to other audiences to stimulate conversations about stem cells.
