Biography

Greta is a biomedical scientist by training (B.Sc., The University of Warwick, 2012) and holds a Ph.D. in Oncology (The University of Cambridge, 2016). Before joining Alcolea Lab in 2017 she worked in Jones Group investigating polyclonality in epithelial cancers while combining intelligent sample isolation design and various NGS techniques. Here, as a model system Greta employs mouse oesophagus to unveil the basic rules underlying epithelial cancer formation with an over-arching goal to reduce the risk of developing pathologies. To address this question, Greta is using an impressive range of approaches including in vivo lineage tracing, deep tissue clearing and whole‐mount imaging, transcriptional profiling, and 3D organotypic culturing system. Greta is a critical member of the lab that has trained multiple newcomers and is competent in student supervision.
