Pilkington Teaching Prize awarded to Prof Anna Philpott

In a ceremony held yesterday evening (25th June) at Girton College, Professor Anna Philpott received one of this year’s Pilkington Prizes for teaching excellence at the University of Cambridge.

The Pilkington Prize awards were endowed and inaugurated in 1994 by Sir Alastair Pilkington to acknowledge excellence in teaching. The prizes are awarded to individuals who make a substantial contribution to the teaching programme of a Department, Faculty or the University as a whole.

Developing the scientists of tomorrow is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job; I have benefitted from fantastic teachers and mentors over my whole career and I’m delighted to be able to pay that debt forward”, said Prof Anna Philpott.
