Last week, the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute Technology & Innovation Forum (SCI-TIF) celebrated its 4th Annual Networking Dinner at Selwyn College, Cambridge. This event brings together our leading scientists from CSCI and our partners in the industry world. This year, conversations centred around growing alignment with human-relevant models and the opportunities to work more closely together.
This year’s dinner invited CSCI Principal Investigators (PI), Affiliated PIs, Wellcome-DRP senior researchers, and SCI-TIF member companies. The evening was marked by vibrant discussions, new connections, and a shared enthusiasm for advancing stem cell science.
SCI-TIF: Fostering Innovation through Collaboration
SCI-TIF was launched at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute in 2022 to provide a bespoke membership programme with the purpose of bridging academia, biotech and pharma, focusing on stem cell research and its translational potential. The forum’s objectives are to:
- Promote collaborative discussions and knowledge exchange
- Facilitate partnerships and projects
- Encourage translational opportunities for new areas of research
SCI-TIF currently counts 14 member companies: 10x Genomics, ABS Biotechnologies, AstraZeneca, Bio-Techne, bit.bio, Cytiva, Grant Instruments, iotaSciences, Nikon, Oxford Nanoimaging Ltd, PeptiMatrix, Qkine, and Singleron Biotechnologies.
SCI-TIF’s Ongoing Impact
SCI-TIF offers its members a range of benefits, including:
- Hot Topic Events on emerging scientific themes
- Networking opportunities and matchmaking sessions
- Participation in the CSCI Annual Retreat
- Access to exclusive seminars and workshops
- A framework for collaborative, challenge-led projects
The forum has already facilitated several collaborations and continues to nurture the networks essential for translating promising research into real-world applications.
