A total of 26 new Postgraduate students started at CSCI in October 2022, under the supervision of 11 different PIs within the Institute.
These students are on a variety of PhD and Masters programmes, and are based in the following labs:
- Wellcome MRes + PhD Programme (currently doing rotations): 6 students
- CCMR MRes + PhD Programme (currently doing rotations): 2 students
- Barker lab: 1x MPhil student
- Ghevaert lab: 1x MPhil student
- Green lab: 2x MPhil students
- Khaled lab: 2x PhD
- Laurenti lab: 2x PhD
- Mohorianu lab: 1x PhD
- Sampaziotis lab: 2x PhD
- Sinha lab: 2x PhD, 1x MPhil
- Tzelepis lab: 1x PhD
- Vassiliou lab: 2x PhD
- Zilbauer lab: 1x PhD
After a week of induction sessions, they joined the PhD Symposium 2022, which took place on 3-4 November at the JCBC Lecture theatre. The Symposium is an annual event that features talks from existing PhD students and Industry sponsors, and a keynote talk from former CSCI Director, Professor Austin Smith, titled: The Roadmap of Pluripotency.
In addition to talks, the students also present posters to Group Leaders and postdocs in the Institute, and are granted awards at the end of the event. This year's awards went to:
Proteintech CSCI PhD Symposium Talk Award (£500 Conference Travel Grant)

Runner-Up final-year Talk: Ross McGinn
STEMCELL Technologies CSCI PhD Symposium Poster Award (£75 Love Cambridge Voucher)
