Last night, 24 April 2023, the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute Technology & Innovation Forum (SCI-TIF) gather with their new members for an inaugural networking dinner to mark the start of the forum.
Initiated with a launch event last November, this forum aims to unite scientists in industry and academia based on a shared interest in stem cells and their applications within Cambridge and beyond. Plans for the forum include networking events, workshops, participation in the CSCI Annual Retreat, matchmaking, and strategy sessions.
The dinner, which took place at Cambridge’s parkside venue University Arms, included guests from each of the SCI-TIF member companies: AstraZeneca, bit.bio, Definigen, MGI-Tech, Mogrify, Qkine, and Cytiva, as well as a special guest Brett Kagan from Cortical Labs in Australia, who had delivered a talk for CSCI’s International Seminar Series earlier in the day.
CSCI Director Bertie Göttgens said of the evening, "I was delighted to welcome our SCI-TIF partners to this fabulous event; lots of interactions and networking, with a real buzz throughout. Looking forward to growing this cross academia-industry community further."
The next SCI-TIF event opportunity will take place at CSCI’s Annual Retreat on 5 June, where plans for a special industry session with exhibition opportunities are currently underway.
