This month the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute Technology & Innovation Forum (SCI-TIF) gathered to celebrate their 2nd Annual Networking Dinner.

SCI-TIF members, CSCI Principal Investigators, and Stem Cell Interdisciplinary Research Centre members got together at SIX Restaurant at the Varsity to meet, discuss potential collaborations, and enjoy the warm weather views from the rooftop.

The forum aims to unite scientists in industry and academia based on a shared interest in stem cells and their applications within Cambridge and beyond. Other events this year have included a Hot Topic Event on AI and stem cell research and a Trainee Day with presentations from industry and researchers.

The dinner welcomed 46 guests, including those from each of the SCI-TIF member companies: 10x Genomics, AstraZeneca, bit.bio, Cytiva, Definigen, MGI-Tech, Proteintech, Qkine, Revvity, and Swift Analytical.

CSCI Director Bertie Göttgens said of the evening, "I was delighted to welcome our SCI-TIF partners again to this fabulous event. It was great to hear lots of interactions and networking with industry, as well as our IRC members, and there was a real buzz throughout the evening. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow this cross academia-industry community further in the future."

CSCI Knowledge Exchange Manager Alice Sorrell said, "It was truly inspiring to witness the dynamic interactions and the forging of new connections among professionals from such diverse fields. We are proud to have hosted the SCI-TIF networking dinner for the second consecutive year and provided a valuable opportunity for networking and community building, and we are excited about the upcoming events to further enhance this spirit of cooperation and innovation."

The next SCI-TIF event opportunity will take place at CSCI’s Annual Retreat on 6 & 7 June, where companies are invited for exhibition opportunities.
